World Book and Copyright Day, 23rd April

World Book and Copyright Day
World Book Day is the biggest annual celebration of books and reading in the world. But World Book Day is not celebrated on the same day in every country. The origins of the day that is now celebrated in the UK and Ireland come from Catalonia, where roses and books were given as gifts to loved ones on St. George's Day - a tradition started over 80 years ago.

In Spain we celebrate it on 23 rd April, do you know WHY???
The 23rd April is a symbolic date for world literature for on this date and in the same year of 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died.
