Pancake Day

Pancake Day in the UK is another name for Shrove Tuesday. It is celebrated as Carnival and Mardi Gras elsewhere in the world. It will be held on 4th March 2014.

Altamira caves reopen for a day

Altamira caves have briefly opened to the public, for the first time in 12 years.The caves were closed in 2002 to protect the paintings from microbiological damage.Five lucky people were chosen to admire the Ice Age paintings of bison, bulls and other animals.
